This coded artwork is a captivating animation that explores how visuals and music can interact in an innovative form. I wanted to create a work that was visually beautiful and enchanting, bringing the viewer into a clear meditative state. The video demonstrates the interactive element of the artwork, as the users clicks generates a drum beat that allows them to add to the vocal soundtrack.
Created in p5.js using JavaScript, this work exists in the genre of generative art as each time the code is run it is able to create new fascinating artistic visuals. The work also includes a layered vocal soundtrack that I recorded and composed with over ten layered tracks that weave in and out to create moments of rich harmony. The organic and fluid movement accompanied with a morphing colour palette creates the illusion of an almost living coded creature.
